I progetti dell'Ecomuseo Argentario: ricerca, documentazione, didattica, divulgazione, valorizzazione...
The “Sottosopra” (upside down) project was promoted by Ecomuseo Argentario, Fondazione Stava 1985 (Stava 1985 Foundation) and the Association “La Miniera di Darzo” (The Darzo quarry) and was co-founded by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Trento e Rovereto. The main goal of the project was to promote the history, culture and the landscapes shaped by the mining activity and that unite the three institutions.
Ecomuseo Argentario involved the Museo Casa Porfido of Albiano (a museum about porphyry and its uses in Albiano) as an active partner of the project and together they created an illustrated guide of the museum’s exhibition that includes a section dedicated to the routes that are important for the history and the nature of the area near Albiano.
The project also led to the creation of a themed route named “El sinter per le Cave” (the path to the quarries in the dialect of the Region Trentino) that leads from the Museo Casa Porfido to the mining area. Walking along a route that had been followed for centuries by miners and farmers on their way to their workplaces, people can discover the many hidden aspects of a little village which was founded on porphyry.
The path was opened on April, 23 2016.
During this project, Ecomuseo Argentario established a collaboration with the Fondazione Museo Storico del Trentino which led to a documentary on the transformations of the landscape and culture of these areas due to the mining activity, which was set and filmed in the locations of the three partners.
